New Beginning

‘Fear, excitement, loneliness, courage, hope, anxiety, and strength all describe my feelings and emotions regarding migration. Some people have a choice to start over and begin a new life, but some don’t. I felt all these feelings when I created my painting, the fear of leaving everything behind, the excitement of being in a new place, the hope for a better life, and the courage to make the decision. I used yellow to symbolize hope, green for a new beginning, and the color blue to remind me of the sky and the ocean, both evoking mixed feelings of fear and calm at the same time.'.
